Hello Montana Auction Fans!
I've decided to try something new (to me), a "Blog"... For those of you like me, not up on today's "cyber-lingo", blog is condensed for web-log or a log that is kept updated from time to time to let interested folks know whats been going on in our world (or in our case, our auction world :-) MANY of you know how the auction went this past Saturday, September 8th. We issued around 260 buyer numbers! With an average of 1.75 people per issued number, I would estimate approximately 450 to 500 people in attendance. Lets just say the yard was full and our 3 check-in clerks' pens were smokin'! Not to mention the quick-check-in computer for those repeat attendees who were already in our computer!

Speaking of computer, for those of you that haven't yet been to one of our auctions, we went electronic a while back. The computers do speed things up at check in for repeat attendees. It also speeds thing up when checking people out as well, IF folks can wait until their last winning bid has been recieved from the clerk and entered into the computer. The only problem is waiting for the purchased items to be entered. Understandably most folks are in a hurry to payout and leave after they've won their last bid. We are working the bugs out of this as well with a few changes that will hopefully be implemented within the next couple of months to cut the wait time in half at least. So meanwhile please be patient with us, we are trying our hardest to beat convenience store checkout times (we already have Wal-Mart beat...)

Anyway, back to the auction. Buyers were definitely in for a treat at this auction! Scott Hagedorn the auctioneer whizzed through what seemed to be an endless amount of high-quality collectible glassware, artwork, and highly-collectible sports memborabilia. Then of course we had lots of very nice everyday household items. Scott sold a dozen or so rifles and shotguns, a few safes, appliances, and even a metal chastity belt plus a twenty or so pound iron lock complete with key, he suggested could be used with the chastity belt to keep the buyer's daughter safe...

There were two antique Cadillacs, a 2-ton tilt bed truck and what could be considered two household's full of VERY NICE furniture rounded out the day. When all was said and done Scott averaged around 70 lots per hour for about 8 hours straight! This even included the time he spent leading folks around town on foot to two other locations at the end of the auction where more merchandise was housed! Believe it or not the house, yard and part of the street on which we set up tents, was not enough room to display all of the items offered! This auction was definitely a treat for our buyers! We want to thank all of the buyers that attended and we wish Jody Carranza the best, our prayers are with her.

Thank you for visiting our website. Keep checking back as we have 2 more auctions in the works for that should be posted soon!
